Kathy P. Boyett, Attorney - Of Counsel to the Firm

Ms. Boyett has in-depth experience in tax, estate, and business planning; estate and probate administrations; and general business. Upon graduating from SMU School of Law, she worked in-house for a publicly-held company in areas of oil and gas, real estate, contracts and Department of Energy compliance. She worked in a family-owned business managing all legal and financial functions, giving her an understanding of many of the issues facing her clients today. She returned to SMU and received a LL.M. in Taxation in 2003.  Ms. Boyett worked for the Nautilus Group, a division of New York Life Insurance, creating business and estate succession plans tailored to clients’ goals and objectives. Also while at New York Life, she authored numerous articles on tax, estate and charitable planning. Combining her experience in corporate law, business management and the practice of law, Ms. Boyett enjoys working with a client to achieve the optimal estate or business succession plan for him or her.
